Machine Operator- Injection Molding
About the Role:
As a Machine Operator – Injection Molding, you will play a critical role in producing high-quality lead-free frangible components (ammunition components) that meet strict manufacturing standards. You will operate and maintain injection molding machinery, conduct quality checks, and keep production on schedule to meet customer deadlines.
Extensive in-house training will be provided — if you have a good mechanical aptitude and are eager to learn, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Start up and shut down machines at the beginning/end of shifts; adjust settings for optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues; perform routine maintenance.
- Conduct quality control checks, record measurements, and report any non-conformities.
- Verify lot numbers on QC sheets before production runs.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace; clean and oil equipment at the end of each shift.
- Monitor machines for performance issues during production runs (including checks after 5,000-count runs).
- Record machine counts and complete production logs daily.
- Track and document resin batch numbers and copper lot numbers for traceability.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous machine operating experience in manufacturing (injection molding experience preferred, but not required).
- Basic understanding of production processes.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Ability to use and calibrate measuring tools.
- Team-oriented, adaptable, and able to work independently.
- Willingness to work 48-hour weeks (rotating 12-hour day or night shifts, including possible weekends).
Schedule:
- 12-hour shifts (day or night rotation).
- 48 hours per week, with possible overtime.
